"A fleet, sure-handed outfielder and a first rate base-runner are the requisites which have brought Jack Reed all the way to Yankee Stadium. The University of Mississippi graduate has been detained en route due to illness and injuries which resulted in a negligible batting average. But sound again, Jack can be of assistance to the Yankees, especially on defense.
A former Ole Miss footballer, he's had some good years in baseball, too. Now he wants to help the Yanks into another World Series."
