1961 Profile: Bob Hale

"The 5-10, 192-pound Hale came to the Yankees on waivers in early August of 1961. His only hit up to the last week of the season for the Yanks was a home run. Bob, a first baseman, started out in the Baltimore Orioles organization and has demonstrated a remarkable ability as a pinch hitter.
The 27-year-old Hale is the comedian of the club, a real 'good-humor guy.' He makes his home in Chicago with his wife and one child where he is Physical Instructor for the Chicago Park District during the off-season."
